Ivan Avramović

By Cameron Shuler

Prior to attending the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, Ivan Avramović developed an interest in conflict analysis and international development through his upbringing in post-conflict zones in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Initially majoring in Global Affairs with a focus on international development aid, Ivan expanded his interests and graduated from Mason with bachelor degrees in Global Affairs and Conflict Analysis and Resolution.

As an undergraduate, Ivan has held internships with the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mason’s Dialogue and Difference Project, the Global Problem Solving Fellows Program offered through the Global Affairs program, and he contributed to the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy’s Kenya Project. Each of these experiences has served to shape and inform Ivan’s academic experience as well as his future goals.

As Ivan works toward his degree, he plans to research international elections, specifically in the Eastern European region. He also plans to research the generational impact of diaspora in the Balkan region and how ethnic tensions impact the political system.
