Suzanne de Janasz has been teaching and doing research in organizational leadership and negotiation for over 20 years, most recently as an endowed chair at Seattle U (where she also ran the Seattle division of a non-profit focusing on helping formerly trafficked women achieve financial independence), and before that, at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. Her research (e.g., mentoring, work-family conflict) appears in top practitioner and academic outlets (including Harvard Business Review), as well as in global newspapers and podcasts. Co-author of two textbooks (Negotiation and Dispute Resolution [2/e, 2018] and Interpersonal Skills in Organizations [7/e, 2021]), Suzanne is currently researching work-family conflict in the gig economy and working on a negotiation book for practitioners. In addition to teaching classes on negotiation, facilitation, and conflict in organizations, she runs GMU’s executive programs for women, including the flagship Engaging and Succeeding in Negotiations program and regularly conducts executive workshops throughout Europe, Asia, and North America.
