Now is the time for George Mason University, friends, and family to come together and celebrate all that you have achieved. Attend University Commencement and your college Degree Celebration to commemorate your achievements.

Get ready... Get Set... Graduate!

Your final semester at Mason is going to go faster than you expect. Make sure you complete all the steps required for graduation with our handy Graduation Checklist. We'll keep adding information as it becomes available, so check back regularly!

First: Apply to Graduate

Graduation applications were due February 20, 2024. If you missed this deadline, you'll need to complete a late graduation application form. Certain processes may be delayed if you apply late.

Next: Get your Regalia

Get your cap, gown, stoles, cords, announcements, diploma frames, and more to celebrate your graduation.

University Commencement

On May 9, 2024, at 10 a.m., President Gregory Washington will preside at the University Commencement ceremony in EagleBank Arena, which will feature student, faculty, and guest speakers. Guests also will enjoy live music during the event. Doctoral candidates will be individually recognized and hooded; bachelor and master graduates will be recognized as a group at their seats.

Degree Celebrations

Separate Degree Celebrations will honor school and college graduates, who will be individually recognized and photographed as they cross the stage. The events will also feature guest speakers from similar fields.

Working on a thesis or dissertation?

In order to be eligible to graduate under the Spring 2024 Semester, all Master's students writing theses and all Doctoral students writing dissertations must adhere to specific deadlines.
