In January, 2018, S-CAR welcomes a new colleague, Dr. Suzanne de Janasz, as Visiting Professor of Management and Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Dr. de Janasz received her PhD in Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. She has taught at Seattle University’s Albers School of Business and Economics, where she held the Thomas F. Gleed Distinguished Chair of Business Administration, at the European School of Management and Technology (Berlin), and at the IMD, in Switzerland. She was a Fulbright Scholar and Visiting Professor at Warsaw University’s School of Management.

Dr. de Janasz’s specialties include Organization Behavior and Conflict, Negotiation theory and practice, and Leadership. This is a joint appointment with Mason’s School of Business. We hope Dr. de Janasz will help us strengthen ties with colleagues in business and management, and build relationships with partners and in areas where our field has had limited experience.

In Spring 2018, Dr. de Janasz will teach CONF 731: Conflict in Organizations. This is a 3 credit course that explores the intersection and dynamics of organizational behavior and dimensions of conflict, theoretical perspectives and cases examining conflict analysis and resolution, and practices strategies for prevention and intervention.
